Chickpeas are legume seeds that are a great source of protein. People often boil chickpeas to make its paste to make hummus or use boiled seeds cold in salads. It is also used in curry; moreover is ground into flour and added to chana masala as well. The cooking time of chickpeas can be shortened by soaking the seeds for twelve to twenty four hours before use. Apart from cooking, its flour is also used in baking. It is used differently for making different cuisines. It must be consumed by everyone, at lease once in a week in order to get all essential nutrients that are necessary for muscle, bone and skin health.
